Vision and Patient Care
Petra’s vision for clinical care is founded in the empowerment of her patients. She believes that successful outcomes in injury recovery, health and wellness come from within the patient’s knowledge and understanding of their injury and implementation of a plan of care that is tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. Petra is very much a hands on provider. With her training in manual physical therapy she emphasizes restoring healthy joint mechanics, normalization of neurodynamics, as well as neural and pain sensitization often found in chronic pain patterns and spinal injuries. She implements customized STEP (Scientific Therapeutic Exercise Progression) programs for tissue specific healing and recovery in her treatment plan. Petra focuses on devising programs that are practical and functional for her patients that can be incorporated into their daily lives. She enjoys treating a diverse population and diagnoses. Her special interests are spinal injuries, cervical headache and TMJ dysfunction, and evaluation/treatment of dynamic upper and lower extremity injuries.
Petra personally incorporates Pilates into her daily routine and has a strong passion for the positive influence it has on her wellbeing. She sees immense value in its application to rehabilitative medicine and wellness and is working on developing these skills further.
